Newport, Oregon .... Lunch and the harbor

Went to a great place for lunch today. We were in Newport so of course debating whether to go to Mo's for our third time this trip or try a new place. Stumbled across a waterfront place called Bay839. Got a table with a view of the harbor and a pretty good long island iced tea. Their crab cakes are excellent and their french fries are world class. Looking forward to going back and trying some of their other dishes.

After lunch we walked around the bayfront even though we had walked the 2.5 miles from our campsite, across this bridge to get there.

The waterfront is pretty interesting. Its got a mix of restaurants, dive bars, tourist shops, a Ripley's Belive it or Not museum, a wax museum and fish processing plants as well as lots of charter boats for fishing and whale watching. People were crabbing off the docks as well as enjoying the sun with some ice cream. The seals make themselves at home too.

On our way back we went by the Coast Guard station, then back up onto the bridge for the walk home. The weather went from sunny to foggy to sunny to an Oregon coast drizzle. It was a great day!!
